Statement

A Civic Manifesto

Who We Are

We are The Golden Jaguars—a collective of residents from Hudson, New York, and Columbia County. We are not a political party. We are not affiliated with any candidate or campaign. We are neighbors, workers, parents, and community members who have chosen to stand together.

We remain anonymous not out of fear, but out of principle. Our movement is about ideas and action, not personalities. When you engage with us, you engage with a community—not individuals seeking recognition.

Why We Exist

We exist because civic engagement cannot be passive. In a democracy, silence is not neutrality—it is consent. We have witnessed the erosion of public trust, the weakening of local institutions, and the growing disconnect between those who govern and those who are governed.

We believe that every community deserves transparent government, fair treatment under the law, and access to accurate information. When these principles are threatened, ordinary people must organize. That is why we are here.

What We Believe

We believe in the Constitution of the United States and the fundamental rights it guarantees: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, due process, and equal protection under the law. These are not privileges—they are rights that belong to every person.

We believe that human dignity is non-negotiable. Every person—regardless of their background, status, or circumstances—deserves to be treated with respect and fairness.

We believe that democracy requires active participation. Voting is essential, but it is not enough. Citizens must remain informed, engaged, and willing to speak when injustice occurs.

We believe in accountability. Public officials serve the people, not themselves. When power is misused, it must be challenged—calmly, legally, and persistently.

How We Act

We act within the law, always. We do not condone violence, harassment, or intimidation. Our methods are rooted in the long tradition of peaceful civic action: observation, documentation, education, and advocacy.

We monitor public meetings, policy decisions, and government actions. We share verified information with our community. We provide resources to help residents understand their rights. We create channels for civic concerns to be heard without fear of retaliation.

We are disciplined. We are calm. We are persistent. We will not be provoked into abandoning our principles, and we will not be silenced by those who prefer that citizens remain passive.

This is our commitment to Hudson, to Columbia County, and to each other.
